Q. How do I book my photography session?
During your pregnancy, around 4-6 months, contact us to ensure we have availability for your due date.
If we have availability for your date, a $200 deposit is required to secure your booking, with the balance due before your photography session date.
Once your baby arrives, please let us know your news, and we will get back to you with some date options and we can then confirm your preferred session date and time with you.
Q. I’ve booked in my newborn session, what next???
Please keep us up to date on any changes to your pregnancy due date.
Start to think about your preferred style and colour for your babies session. What colour would you like your little one wrapped/swaddled in?
Put some thought into what clothes you, your partner and any siblings will be wearing during the photo session? After your baby is born, life can be very busy, so its good to have some ideas about this beforehand.
Once baby arrives, please send us a quick message and we will confirm your newborn photography session date and time with you.
Q. On the day of your newborn photography session, what should I bring?
Please bring additional milk for your baby (and a pacifier if they have one).
Dress your baby in a front-opening onesie, this is easy to remove without waking your baby up (avoid singlets).
Siblings are usually photographed first, so dad can then take them to a park for a play after. Its a long time for little people to wait quietly, and we have a few parks within walking distance, or a short drive, from our home studio.
For yourself, wear cool comfortable clothing. Neutral clothing photographs best, (avoiding large print/writing/logos) and take the time to ensure clean hands and nails. Get in and have your photograph taken! Its a special time of your life, and your babies life, you will value these precious photos for years to come.
Relax…enjoy your day! If you’re running late, I understand, just send me a quick message, and I’ll see you when you arrive.
Q. What do I wear to my newborn photography session?
The most important part of your photography session will be photographing your faces, and your connection with your family, along with your beautiful newborn baby. The focus is on you, however putting some thought into your clothing can be very helpful. Clean, simple, neutral clothing and colours will always photograph best.
For dad, keep it simple with either jeans or pants of neutral colors, and a shirt or t-shirt. Please avoid large print, stripes and logos if possible, as they can be very distracting from your faces in your final photos.
For mum, a soft flowing shirt or a dress in a soft neutral color, such as light pinks, light blue, light grey, or cream. We will be focusing on your faces, and hands, so remember to have your nails/jewellery looking fresh.
Siblings look great in a simple shirt, t-shirt or dress in a pastel or neutral colour. If you are unsure of colours, just try to keep it simple (avoiding large print, logos, or heavy patterns).
Most importantly, be comfortable, as the session can run for 2 – 3 hours and it can be quite warm in our studio. Please feel free to bring your fresh outfits and/or some spare clothing options with you along to your session.
